He’d assumed she wouldn’t even want to touch him, so her linking their arms together takes him by surprise. But perhaps she’s simply biding her time, waiting for the right moment to make Somnus pay. Aera was kind and hopeful, yes, the perfect match for Ardyn, but she was also determined and head-strong and almost as stubborn as Somnus himself if that was even possible so he had no doubts that she would make anyone who crossed her beloved pay.

And Somnus is basically the first name on that list.

“I am… unsure.” He replies after a few moments. He did ask her to talk, and she’s being kind enough to not focus the talk on something that would bring Somnus back to the spiral of guilt where this place seemed determined to throw him. “This feels like a dream, I know that much. And you being alive here, next to me only accentuates that feeling.”
